The first principle of the Energy Bus for Schools is "You're the Driver" of your own bus!  This month we are teaching our scholars to be responsible for their own behavior, school work, and chores at home.  Another important component of the Energy Bus Schools for Leadership Journey is shared leadership.  We want all of our scholars to become leaders!

Dear Parents,

Welcome Back!  We are in the second week of the school year and are excited to have all of our scholars back in school and to welcome those new to Hidden Hills!  It’s my honor to be the principal of this amazing neighborhood school!  We have so much to look forward to as we continue to implement strategies that support our Academy of Technology!

As you know, Hidden Hills is now a Certified Energy Bus School.  We will kick-off our journey by sharing the 7 principles of the Energy Bus with our students on Thursday, August 31st at the morning flag ceremony.  Please feel free to join us and learn more about the Energy Bus for Schools Leadership Journey.

There are quite a few Energy Bus Schools in Texas (some of which are in the Houston area).  To show our support, we will have a “We Love Our Passengers in Texas” drive and collect items to donate to The American Red Cross.  Some ideas of items to donate include:  socks, toothbrush, toothpaste, comb/brush, deodorant, unscented lotions, diapers, diaper wipes, puzzles, and word search books.  We will collect all donations from now through September 11th and ship out our care package by Friday, September 15th

Let’s share a little positive energy with our passengers in Texas by letting them know that we’re thinking about them and their families!

We look forward to seeing all of our parents at Back to School Night!  This is an opportunity for your child’s teacher to share the grade level curriculum, class rules, routines, policies, and procedures.  This is an ADULTS ONLY event!  Childcare will be provided for $5.00 per family at the YMCA.  Please RSVP (949) 249-6110.

In light of the terrible tragedy that occurred recently in San Bernardino, we MUST be diligent in enforcing all safety and security procedures.  Please review and follow these school procedures/policies:

  • During drop off and pick up times, stay out of the quad area where students are lined up and away from the lunch bench area where students are eating.
  • When entering the campus during school hours, check in at the office, sign in, and get a visitor’s sticker.
  • All adults on campus, during the school day, must have an ID badge or a visitor’s sticker.
  • Be aware of visitors/adults on campus who are watching children or wandering the campus and report any unusual observations or suspicions to the office immediately.

Let’s work together to keep our campus safe for our students, teachers, and staff!
